Judgment

All will be judged before God. It's in the Bible, Revelation 20:12, NIV. "And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books."

People will be judged by what they have done. It's in the Bible, Matthew 16:27, NIV. "For the Son of Man is going to come in His Father's glory with His angels, and then He will reward each person according to what he has done."

The standard in the judgment will be God's law. It's in the Bible, James 2:10-12, NIV. "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. For He who said, 'Do not commit adultery,' also said, ‘Do not murder.' If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker. Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom."

God's judgment will be fair. It's in the Bible, Acts 17:31, NIV. "For He has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man He has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising Him from the dead."

No one escapes the judgment. It's in the Bible, 2 Corinthians 5:10, NIV. "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad."

Nothing can be kept hidden in the judgment. It's in the Bible, Ecclesiastes 12:14, NIV. "For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil."

What view of the judgment scene was given Daniel? It's in the Bible, Daniel 7:9-10, TLB. "I watched as thrones were put in place and the Ancient of Days—the Almighty God—sat down to judge. His clothing was as white as snow, His hair like whitest wool. He sat upon a fiery throne brought in on flaming wheels, and a river of fire flowed from before Him. Millions of angels ministered to Him and hundreds of millions of people stood before Him, waiting to be judged. Then the court began its session and The Books were opened."

Who will be the judge? It's in the Bible, John 5:22, NIV. "Moreover, for the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son."

In the judgment court room Christ is our defense attorney. It's in the Bible, I John 2:1, NKJV "My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous."

What evidence does the defense present on our behalf? It's in the Bible, Revelation 3:5, TLB. "Everyone who conquers will be clothed in white, and I will not erase his name from the Book of Life, but I will announce before My Father and His angels that he is Mine."

God has given Jesus to be a just judge, and our justifier to those who have faith in Him. It's in the Bible, Romans 3:25-26, NIV.  "God presented Him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate His justice, because in His forbearance He had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— He did it to demonstrate His justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus."

We have no need to fear the judgment, for if God is on our side who can be against us? It's in the Bible, Romans 8:31-34 NIV.  "What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
